Operations Manager

Michael Stokes
Michael joined us in 2005. He was previously service manager for a national company based in Christchurch. He also has a wide experience on all brands of forklifts having been in the forklift industry since 1983.  He has an in depth knowledge of electric forklifts and petrol/lpg and Diesel forklifts.
Michael heads our service staff of 12 mechanics.  It’s likely your phone call for service or breakdown will answered by Michael.

Workshop Coordinator

Phil Lock
Phil has been in the forklift industry since 1982, initially as a field service technician. With his in depth knowledge of the industry Phil assists Michael in the day to day running of the workshop and rental fleet.

Stuart Mayes
Stuart has been in the forklift industry since 1983. Initially as a mechanic then as a service manager for 13 years with a national company, servicing all brands, makes and models of forklifts.  He has also worked with heavy and specialized equipment and has attended many factory courses on a variety of forklifts and machinery.
Stuart brings wide knowledge of the forklifts industry to our company.

Managing Director:

Roy Howell
Roy has been involved with forklifts since 1989. Initially he established the South Island branch for an Auckland based national company . He covered all areas of the South Island. In 1999 he became a shareholder and the Managing Director of the new company “South Island Forklifts”.
Roy has an in extensive knowledge of the forklift industry and is able to assist our customers to select the right machine to do the job.

Tom lives in Nelson and is Managing Director of Fifeshire Forklifts. He is a director of South Island Forklifts and spends considerable time at South Island Forklifts in Christchurch.
